- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (deep dish style)
Instructions
- reheat the Oven
- Set your oven to 350°F. Place the rack in the center.
- Whisk the Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cocoa powder, and cornmeal.
- Add the Wet Ingredients
- Stir in the eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla, and melted butter until smooth.
- Prepare the Crust
- Fit the pie crust into your 9-inch pan. Crimp the edges if desired.
- Pour and Bake
- Pour filling into crust. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until center is just set and top has formed a crackly crust.
- Cool Completely
- Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing.
