Description

These sesame hoisin ground chicken lettuce wraps are quick, flavorful, and low-carb. A perfect weeknight meal or appetizer with bold Asian flavor!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 head romaine lettuce (or butter lettuce)
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add ground chicken to the skillet.
  4. Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until fully browned.
  5. Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  6. Mix thoroughly and cook another 3–5 minutes until everything is well combined.
  7. Add shredded carrots and green onions.
  8. Stir well and let cook for 1–2 more minutes.
  9. Spoon chicken mixture into clean lettuce leaves.
  10. Garnish with sesame seeds, extra green onions, and a squeeze of lime.
