- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 head romaine lettuce (or butter lettuce)
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground chicken to the skillet.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until fully browned.
- Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Mix thoroughly and cook another 3–5 minutes until everything is well combined.
- Add shredded carrots and green onions.
- Stir well and let cook for 1–2 more minutes.
- Spoon chicken mixture into clean lettuce leaves.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, extra green onions, and a squeeze of lime.
