- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or chicken breasts, if preferred)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup butter (unsalted)
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high.
- Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove from skillet and set aside (it will finish cooking in the oven).
- In the same skillet, add butter and garlic.
- Stir in brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened slightly.
- Return chicken to skillet or transfer to baking dish.
- Spoon glaze generously over chicken.
- Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes, basting halfway through.
- Optional: Broil 1–2 minutes at the end for caramelized finish.
